CT EXAMS WWO CONTRAST:
If diabetic, you must stop taking meds 48-72 hours prior to appointment.
Patients 50 and up must have blood work within 90 days.
ESI INJECTIONS:

No anti-inflammatories for 5 days!
-
No blood thinners for 5 days before exam!
-
No food 4-5 hours before exam
-
Bring a ride. No driving after exam.

If allergic to iodine, ask your referring doctor to give a 3 day prescription for prednisone and benadryl.

FASTING 8-10 HOURS
- ABDOMEN ULTRASOUNDS
- LIVER ULTRASOUNDS
- GALLBLADDER ULTRASOUNDS
FULL BLADDER (42 0Z)
- BLADDER ULTRASOUNDS
- PELVIS
- PROSTATE
hida scan:

This exam takes 2 hours

No eating/drinking after midnight (no water or meds)

No smoking/tobacco after midnight
-
No morphine at least 4 hours prior to exam

If ordered, must do ultrasound first
NUCLEAR STRESS TEST:

This exam takes 3 hours
-
No eating/drinking after midnight (water is ok)

No caffeine 24 hours before exam
-
Bring snacks or a bagged lunch for you
-
Don't take any medication, but bring it with you
bone scan:

This exam takes 3 hours

Patient may eat and drink whatever they want
